JULIA DOMNA, wife of Septimius Severus. Augusta, 193-217 AD. AR Denarius (18mm - 1.91 g). Emesa mint. Struck 194-195 AD. IVLIA DO-MNA AVG, draped bust right / VENER VICTOR, Venus standing right, her back turned to the viewer, draped from the waist down and leaning on a short column with her left elbow; holding a palm branch with her left arm and an apple in her extended right hand. RIC IV 633 (Septimius); BMCRE 423; RSC 189. Good VF, darkly toned, a hint of minor roughness.
