TABERISTAN. Umar ibn A’ala,(771-782 AD), Year 127. Silver Hemidrachm (1.92 gm; 23 mm). Crowned Sasanian bust to the right, name “Umar” in Arabic in front of the face, Pahlavi phrase “NYWK”-per Pakzadian) on the 3rd quarter and Pahlavi phrase APD on the second quarter. Reverse; fire altar with attendants, mint TPURSTAN (Tabaristan) on the right, date: 127, The period coincides with reign of 2nd Abbasid Khalif; Al Manusr (754-775 AD). Choice FDC. Fully lustrous.
