ROMAN EMPIRE. AELIUS, Caesar. 136-138 AD. AR Denarius (3.08 gm; 19 mm). Rome mint. Struck 137 AD. L AELIVS CAESAR, bare head right / TR POT COS II, Pietas standing right before altar, raising hand and holding box of perfume. RIC II 432 (Hadrian); BMCRE 972 (Hadrian); RSC 53. Well struck on a nice broad flan. Well centered. Elegant style. Struck from Fresh dies. Choice Superb "Almost as Struck". Lightly toned.
