ROMAN EMPIRE. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Silver Denarius (2.72 gm; 22 mm). Rome mint. 9th emission, AD 241. IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / SECVRITAS PVBLICA Securitas seated left on throne, holding scepter and resting head upon hand. RIC IV 130; RSC 340. Fully struck on nice broad flan. Excellent metal. Fully lustrous. Choice FDC. Perfect example for the issue.
