DÉCEMBRE / MDCCCV. in four lines in exergue, view of the Rialto Bridge on the Grand Canal of Venice; above, a small gondola between a dolphin and a hydrus (water serpent), representing the Adriatic and the canals of Venice; in small lettering below the exergual line, BRENET F. - DENON D.. Bramsen 460; Julius 1471. Tan-brown patina. Superb extremely fine.
The reverse design refers to the the 1805 Treaty of Pressburg, where Austria ceded Venice to the Napoleonic Kingdom of Italy.
