Description
SASANIAN KINGS. Shapur II (309-379 AD). Silver Obol (0.68 gm; 14 mm). Obverse; standard bust turning right, single ring around the image, reverse; fire altar with attendants and figure in the fire turning right, phrase "RASTI" (Truth) on the base of the altar. Sunrise 839. Lovely strike on a nice full flan. Excellent condition with well preserved details. Choice AU. Extremely rare.
