TABERISTAN. Said ibn Da’laj. Year 123. Silver Hemidrachm (1.94 gm; 25 mm). Obverse: Sasanian bust to the right, name Said (Saeed) in Arabic in front of the face, Pahlavi phrase “NYWK”-per Pakzadian) on the 3rd quarter and Pahlavi phrase APD on the second quarter. Reverse; fire altar with attendants, mint TPURSTAN (Tabaristan) on the right, date: 123, The period coincides with reign of 2nd Abbasid Khalif; Al Manusr (754-775 AD). Lovely strike. Choice FDC. Fully lustrous.
