ANTONINUS PIUS. 138-161 AD. AV Aureus (19mm - 6.72 g). Rome mint. Struck 143-144 AD. ANTONINVS AVG PI-VS P P TR P COS III, bare head right / IMPERA-TOR II, Victory standing right, holding shield in both hands. RIC III 109b; BMCRE 492 note; Calicó 1547 (same obverse die). Good VF.

Pius was acclaimed imperator for the second time following the victory of Q. Lollius Urbicus over the Brigantes in Britain, and the construction of the Antonine Wall.
