Description
Kings of Macedon, Alexander III 'the Great' (336-323 BC), Tetradrachm, Memphis or Alexandreia, c. 323/2-317/1 BC, 17.20g, 28mm. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; rose in left field, ?I below throne, O to right of sceptre; Aramaic graffitii in field. Svoronos –; Price 3971e; SNG Copenhagen 7 var. (O to left of staff). Extremely fine, struck in high relief and with a magnificent style, slight die shift on obverse and Aramaic graffiti on obverse and reverse.
