Description
Geto-Dacians. Imitations of Roman Republican denarii. Late 1st century B.C. AR denarius (17 mm, 3.78 g, 5 h). Obverse imitating L. Roscius Fabatus, reverse partially imitating M. Volteius M.f. Head of Juno Sospita right, wearing goat’s skin headdress; behind, branch which attaches to the headdress creating a crest / Nike(?) on horse galloping right over animal; in background, temple. Davis class A, grp. II. A very unusual and interesting imitation. Edge chip. Toned. Fine.
