Description
A nice South Italic / Messapian bowl, 4th Century BC, with raised ring foot. Nicely painted vine pattern around concentric circles, a wide band just inside raised ridges on the inside of the rim. The backside nicely decorated with concentric circles, two suspension holes at rim. Dia: 8 5/8” (21.9 cm). Intact, one minor rim chip, age crack and a few nicks. A decorative piece! Ex Dr. Gilles collection, Germany, acquired prior to 1970.
