Description
A lot of 2 fragments of Roman wall painting and a section of mosaic flooring, c. 1st Century AD. The two section of stucco with the original painted surfaces in deep reddish purple, red and golden yellow. The mosaic floor section with black tesserae within a grey matrix. Largest piece measures 2 ½” x 2” (6.4 x 5 cm). Ex Dr. Gilles Collection, Germany, acquired during the 1950’s & 60’s.
