ROMAN EMPIRE. Nero. 54-68 AD. Æ Sestertius (24.40 gm; 34 mm). Struck circa 65 AD. NERO CLAVD CAESAR AVG GER P M TR P IMP P P, laureate head right, wearing aegis on shoulder / S-C across field, ROMA in exergue, Roma seated left on cuirass, right foot on helmet, holding Victory and parazonium; around and behind, various shields. RIC I 273; Cf. BMCRE 173; BN 370; WCN 145; Cohen -. Lovely strike on a nice broad flan. Nice brown patina with a hint of green deposit. Lightly cleaned. Choice Superb EF / EF. Wonderful example for this issue.
