Cuneiform Votive Cone. From Lagash, time of Gudea, 2141-2122 BC. Fired clay votive “nail”, recording the rebuilding of one of the temples in Lagash. Standard inscription, beginning “To the god Nin-gir-su, the mightly man the satrap Gudea,(details of specific dedication), dedicates this…” . 3.5” long, with missing nail-head and tip, text mostly readable. Rare.
