Artaxiad Kingdom of Armenia. Tigranes II 'the Great'. 95-56 B.C. Æ chalkous (14 mm, 2.42 g, 12 h). Tigranocerta, 69-55 B.C. Draped bust of Tigranes II right, wearing five-pointed Armenian tiara / [BA]ΣIΛEΩΣ [BAΣ]IΛEΩN [TIΓP]ANOY, cornucopiae; in curve of horn, A; in exergue, ΔΗ . Cf. Bedoukian 106; cf. Nercessian 98; Mousheghian & Depeyrot 47. Black patina. Very fine.
