Description

A lovely Gallinazo-Viru double-chambered whistle bottle from Peru, c. 1 - 100 AD. The primary chamber is an unusual avian form, 5-1/2"" high, with the open head and perforated eyes allowing the player to significantly alter the tone of the whistle hidden within. Both chambers are decorated with a Maltese Cross design, as well as stylized solar symbols, all executed in the negative resist style characteristic of this rare type. In excellent condition, great tone. Ex Espinoza estate. Value Range: $650 - $800
