An exceptional zoomorphic ocarina from Costa Rica, c. 500 – 800 AD. This rare Huerta Incised type instrument is 4-1/4” long and consists of a bulbous, ornately decorated chamber standing on four legs, surmounted with a beautifully detailed head of a fox or wolf. Nicely burnished, good mineral deposits, great tone. Museum deaccession. Value Range: $350 - $500
