Lot 270: ANTIQUITIES, Kushan cosmetics dish

An excellent Kushan (Ghandharan) stone cosmetics dish from the Indus Valley, c.1st – 3rd century AD. This lovely example is 4” long, 2-1/2” wide and is carved from greenish chlorite. It features a nicely detailed lion facing the hollow tray portion and an underside that is decorated with a floral or solar pattern. Rare type in superb condition. Ex Khan estate.
