Description

Asia Minor, Uncertain mint. Maximinus I 'Thrax'. A.D. 235-238. Æ (33 mm, 21.81 g, 6 h). Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Maximinus I right / Demeter, holding two torches, in biga pulled by two winged serpents right. Earthen-green patina, light porosity. Good fine.

The fabric of this coin appears to be from Asia Minor, probably Lydia or perhaps Cilicia. After searching for hours trying to determine the mint, we gave up and decided to let bidders decide if the coin is interesting enough to purchase.
