Macedon. Ca. 167-165 B.C. Æ (22 mm, 9.02 g). Facing mask of Silenus / D MAKE/ΔONON, legend in three lines in wreath of ivy. AMNG III 212; MacKay pl. III, 10; Touratsoglou 25; SNG Copenhagen 1324. Dark grayish-green patina, some light roughness. Good fine.

These used to be attributed to the Praetor D. Junius Silanus, but recent studies and hoard analysis suggest these date earlier to a period of turmoil caused by barbarian invasions
