Macedonian Kingdom. Alexander III 'the Great'. 336-323 B.C. AR tetradrachm (26 mm, 17.04 g, 5 h). Amphipolis, posthumously under Kassander, ca. 307-297 B.C. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion's skin headdress / ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ, Zeus seated left, feet on footstool, holding eagle and scepter; in left field, Λ above torch; below throne, kantharos. Price 468; Ehrhardt 36. Toned. Very fine.
