Parthian Kingdom. Mithradates III. Ca. 57-54 B.C. AR drachm (20 mm, 3.89 g, 12 h). Mithradatkart. Diademed and draped bust of Mithradates III left / Archer seated right on throne, holding bow; below bow, monogram (retrograde). Cf. Sellwood 41.6 (monogram not retrograde), unrecorded variety; Shore -. Minor porosity, reverse slightly double struck or traces of an undertype. Good very fine.

While we maintain the Sellwood/Shore identities for the Parthian Kings, recent research suggests this may be an issue of Mithradates IV.
