LUCIUS VERUS. 161-169 AD. Æ Sestertius (36mm - 28.32 g). Rome mint. Struck 161 AD. IMP CAES L AVREL VERVS AVG, laureate and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / CONCORD AVGVSTOR TR P, COS II in exergue, S-C across fields, Aurelius and Verus facing one another, clasping hands. RIC III 1284 (Aurelius); BMCRE 861 (Aurelius). VF, mostly a dark greenish-brown patina, some heavy encrustation removed from the obverse with some smoothing and scratches and some of the letters on the right side possibly recut. Struck on a big, broad flan.
