Description
A steatite scarab with a horned goat, 2nd Intermediate Period, c. 1750 - 1570 BC, the back of the piece with stylized head and two parallel grooves around the edges indicating legs. On base, a horned goat, palm frond above. 17 x 12mm. Intact, no glaze. Cf. Matouk II 708. A nice example. Ex Los Angeles private collection. Value Range $200 - $250.
