Lot 266: ANTIQUITIES, A large Daunian Olla or Funnel Krater

A large Daunian Olla, or Funnel Krater, Italic, c. 5th - 4th Century BC, with large funnel-shaped rim, twin loop handles and two upward pointing stylized hands in between. The base is flat, and the entire vessel is decorated with red line-work, pellets within the registers inside the rim, and stylized animals within registers around the shoulder. H: 7 ¾” (19.7 cm). Intact, few scuffs and minor rim chips. Light deposits inside and out. Ex Orange County private collection. Value range $900 - $1200.
