Italy, Venice, Candia (Crete), Countermarked Gazzetta (2 soldi), decree of 9 August 1653. Lion of St. Mark facing, holding sword, CGO countermark / CANDIA, rosette flanked by stars above and below, ZD countermark. 6.50g. Paolucci - (for other countermarks see no. 886-90). Good Very Fine and extremely rare with a double countermark. Ex Dimitris Loulakakis collection.
