Description
Caracalla (198-217), Syria, Seleucis and Pieria, Emesa, Æ, 34.26g, 31mm, dated CY 527 (AD 215/6). Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / Three-quarter view of the temple of Elagabal. SNG Cop. -; BMC -; Price & Trell 299; Mionnet V p. 229, 606. Good very fine, light porosity, well centred on a thick flan. A very pleasing piece. Rare.
