About Extremely Fine Ex Baldwins 59, May 2009, lot 1127, ex Dimitris Loulakakis collection. The scene portrays one of the greatest aerial invasions in history. Many historians argue that the delay of the Third Reich in Crete played an important role in the invasion of Russia as the heavy winter hindered their chances of conquest.
