Description
Macedonian Kingdom. Alexander III 'the Great'. 336-323 B.C. AR drachm (16 mm, 4.20 g, 12 h). Magnesia on the Maeander, lifetime issue, ca. 325-323 B.C. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion's skin headdress / ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟ[Υ], Zeus seated left, holding eagle and scepter; in left field, bucranium. Price 1934. Small dig on Zeus. Choice very fine.
