Description
Crispina. Augusta, A.D. 178-182. Æ sestertius (32 mm, 23.75 g, 5 h). Rome, under Marcus Aurelius and/or Commodus. CRISPINA AVGVSTA, draped bust of Crispina right, hair rolled into bun at back of head / [S]ALVS, S C across field, Salus seated left, feeding from patera serpent arising from altar, resting elbow on back of throne. RIC 672a; BMC 422; Cohen 33. Dark olive-green patina with tan highlights. Die shift on reverse. Nice very fine.
