Caracalla. A.D. 198-217. AR denarius (19 mm, 3.77 g, 12 h). Rome, A.D. 204. ANTONINVS PIVS AVG, laureate and draped bust of Caracalla right, seen from behind / INDVLGENTIA AVGG IN CARTH, Dea Caelestis seated facing on lion galloping right over rushing waters, holding thunderbolt and scepter. RIC 130a; BMC 280; RSC 97. Much scarcer than the same issue from Septimius Severus. Lightly toned. Nice very fine.
