Description
Lucania, Herakleia. Ca. 430-420 B.C. AR diobol (12 mm, 0.91 g, 12 h). Head of Athena right, wearing helmet decorated with hippocamp / Herakles kneeling right, strangling the Nemean lion. Van Keuren 38; HN Italy 1360. Old toning. Very fine.
Comes with an old collection envelope from the early 1960s showing the previous owner paid $2.50.
