Description
Mysia, Pergamon. Ca. 133-67 B.C. AR tetradrachm (28 mm, 12.64 g, 12 h). Cistophoric type, ca. 123-104 B.C. Serpent emerging from within cista mystica with lid ajar; all within ivy wreath / two serpents entwined around bowcase; in left field, monogram of Pergamon, above, ΠΑmonogram; in right field, serpent-entwined thyrsos. Kleiner 7; Pinder 101; SNG Copenhagen 424. Good very fine.
