Description

An excellent Jalisco figure from West Mexico, c. 200 BC – 300 AD. This superbly detailed female is 7” tall and is posed standing, with arms to the sides. She is adorned with multiple matching necklaces, bracelets, headbands, as well as ear and nose ornaments. Clothing is indicated with crisp cross-hatch incising. Strong yellow ocher paint remains under the heavy mineral deposits, with traces of stucco in the grooves. Mounted on stand. Ex Arnold collection. Value range: $350 - $500
