Description
An excellent Nicoya figure from Ometepe Island, Nicaragua, c. 1000 – 1350 AD. This beautiful Papagayo Polychrome female is 4-3/4” high, posed seated, with hands resting on her thighs. She is elaborately adorned with painted designs representing clothing and jewelry. In nearly perfect condition, with mineral deposits and root marks. Ex Smolen estate. Value range: $450 - $600.
