Description

An exceptional Roman unguent vial, c. 1st – 2nd century AD. This beautifully made bottle is 7-1/2” high and has an unusual spiral pattern on the neck. The widely flared rim curves downward and the vessel is heavily encrusted with calcification and root marks. A nice example of a type most likely found in Egypt. From a private California collection. Value range: $250 - $400.
