Description
A rare bronze tool from Central Asia, probably of Roman manufacture. It is a 3” long hole punch used for leather manufacturing and is decorated with a feline jumping off the back of a recumbent animal. The long shaft is round and hollow; the two flat flanges would have been anchored in a wood handle. The second piece is a Kerman votive idol, ¾” high, c. 1200 – 800 BC and depicts a pair of goats.
