Description
An Apulian black-ware guttus with Nike, Magnia Graecia, c. 350 - 320 BC, the goddess depicted winged and seated on a rock. The vessel is of characteristic shape with ribbed sides, single handle and tall spout with narrow opening for dispensing oil. Intact and extremely well preserved. Light earthen deposits. H: 4” (10.2 cm). Ex Los Angeles private collection. Value Range $675 - $875.
