Description
Julia Domna. Augusta, A.D. 193-217. AR denarius (18 mm, 3.72 g, 6 h). Emesa, under Septimius Severus, A.D. 194/5. IVLA(sic) DO-MNA AVG, draped bust of Julia Domna right / VENER-I V-ICTR, Venus standing right, her back turned to the viewer, draped from the waist down and leaning on a short column with her left elbow; holding a palm branch with her left arm and an apple in her extended right hand. Cf. RIC 632; cf. BMC 424; RSC 194. Toned. Nearly very fine.
