Seleukid Kingdom. Seleukos I Nikator. 312-281 B.C. AR drachm (16 mm, 4.05 g, 12 h). Susa, ca. 298/7-295/4 B.C. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion's skin headdress / [ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ] AΛEΞANΔPΟΥ, Zeus enthroned left, holding [eagle] and scepter; in left field, monogram; beneath throne, AP. SC 166.3; HGC 9, 27c. Great style. High relief, light porosity on reverse. Extremely fine.
It is unclear whether the expected royal title in the exergue was originally present on this coin.
