Description
Seleukid Kingdom. Antiochos IV Epiphanes. 175-164 B.C. Æ (15 mm, 5.85 g, 1 h). Antioch on the Orontes. Radiate head of Antiochos IV right / [Β]ΑΣΙΛΕΩ[Σ] ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟΥ ΘΕΟΥ ΕΠΙ-ΦΑΝΟΥ[Σ], Zeus standing facing, head left, holding thunderbolt and scepter; at feet to left, eagle standing left, head right; in outer left field, HP monogram. SC 1409.2f; HGC 9, 654 (r1). Earthen dark green patina. Very fine.
