Indo-Scythian Kingdom. Azes. Ca. 58-12 B.C. AR tetradrachm (25 mm, 9.40 g, 3 h). Uncertain mint in Western Gandhara. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩN MEΓAΛOY AZOY, king on horseback right, holding whip(?); before, Kharoshthi letter / Athena standing right, making benediction gesture, holding shield and carrying spear over shoulder; in left field, Φ above Greek monogram; in right field, Kharoshthi monogram. Senior 98.380; HGC 12, 637. Lightly toned. Very fine.
