Cilicia, Seleuceia ad Calycadnum. Gordian III. A.D. 238-244. Æ (31 mm, 13.28 g, 6 h). ANTΩNIOC ΓOPΔIANOC CЄ/BAC, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian III right; c/m: Δo monogram within triangular incuse / CЄΛЄVΚЄΩΝ ΤΩ ΠΡΟC ΤΩ/N ΚΑΛVΚΑΔΝΩ, Aphrodite standing facing, head right, holding mirror; to either side, Cupid standing facing her, holding torch; in right field, EΛE/VΘE/PAC. Cf. SNG BN 1020-2 (without Eleutheras); SNG Levante 773; Howgego 670. Brown and green patina with light earthen deposits. Good fine.
