Description
Syria, Seleucis and Pieria. Antiochia ad Orontem. Pseudo-autonomous issue. 1st century B.C. Æ trichalkon (20 mm, 8.71 g, 11 h). Ca. A.D. 5/6. Laureate head of Zeus right / ANTIOX-E-ΩN MHTPO-ΠOΛEΩN, ram leaping right, head turned to look back; above, star; below, monogram. McAlee 95; Butcher 55; RPC 4265. Dark brown patina with earthen deposits. Nice very fine.
