Description
PERSIS KINGS. Vadfardad I. 3rd. century BC. AR drachm (3.76 gm; 18 mm). Head of Autophradates I right, with moustache and earring, wearing diadem and kyrbasia / Fire temple of Ahura-Mazda, above, half-figure of Ahura-Mazda, to inner left, king standing right, standard to inner right. Cf. Sunrise 570(Tetradrachm). Not in Sunrise. Some pitting on the obverse otherwise well struck from high relief dies. Choice aEF. Nice original find patina. Apparently unpublished. Extremely Rare.
