Syria, Seleucis and Pieria. Antiochia ad Orontem. Augustus. 27 B.C.-A.D. 14 AR tetradrachm (26 mm, 15.58 g, 12 h). Year 36 of the Actian Era and year 54 of the Caesarean Era (A.D. 6). ΚAIΣAPOΣ ΣΕ-BAΣTOY, laureate head of Augustus right / [ANTIO]XEΩN MHTPOΠOΛEΩΣ, Tyche seated right on rocky outcropping, holding palm branch; below, half-length figure of river-god Orontes swimming right; abov,e ςΛ (Actian Era date); in right field, ΔN (Caesarean Era date) above monogram. McAlee 187; Prieur 57; RPC 4158. Dark find patina. Portrait in high relief and of excellent style. Good very fine.
