Lucius Verus. A.D. 161-169. AV aureus (19 mm, 7.32 g). L VERVS AVG ARMENIACVS, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Lucius Verus right / TR P IIII IMP II COS II, Victory standing facing, head right, supporting shield inscribed VIC/AVG in two lines on palm tree. RIC 525; Szaivert 94-12/37; BMC 296, note; Calicó 2177 (same dies as illus.). Splendid details and a superb portrait of Verus. Beautiful underlying luster. An insignificant, tiny bump on lower rim at 6 h. Fleur de coin.
