Description
Thracian Kingdom. Lysimachos. 305-281 B.C. AR tetradrachm (31 mm, 17.01 g, 12 h). Magnesia on the Maeander, 297/6-282/1 B.C. Diademed head of deified Alexander the Great right, with horn of Ammon / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ, Athena seated left, holding Nike, resting elbow on shield set behind her, spear over far shoulder; in inner left field, monogram. Thompson 113; Müller 552. Well centered and struck with a naturalistic aging portrait. Good very fine.
