Macedonian Kingdom. Alexander III 'the Great'. 336-323 B.C. AR drachm (16 mm, 4.10 g, 12 h). Magnesia on the Maeander, ca. 318-301 B.C. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion's skin headdress / ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟ[Υ], Zeus seated left, holding eagle and scepter; in left field, owl standing right, head facing; below throne, monogram. Price 1965. Toned. Very fine.
