ALEXANDRINE EMPIRE. Satraps of Babylonia under Alexander. 328-311 BC. Gold Double Daric (16.46 gm; 18 mm). Persian king, wearing kidaris and kandys in the kneeling/running stance to right, with a quiver over his shoulders, and holding a short spear in his right hand and a bow in his left; monogram behind to left / Wavy-patterned oblong punch. Nicolet-Pierre 6; Sunrise 158var. Well struck with an interesting reverse pattern. Choice aVF/VF. Rare.
